Everyone, I am so pumped for the election this year! I love democracy! I love letting my voice ring out! I love those little “I voted stickers.” I love thinking I matter. USA USA USA!

It is also Josh’s 25th birthday.

As his youth fades and the map fills up with red states and blue states, let us all take a moment to reflect on how lucky we are to have a vote. How nice our lives are even we they aren’t nice. I mean, if you’re reading this you at least have some access to the internet. So you must be enjoying gems like this and this.

So I really hope you vote! I don’t want to sway you lovely readers to one candidate or the other. I know who I’m voting for but this blog is purple, literally. The design is purple.

Take some time to do a little research. You Facebook feed does not count. That is a terrible place to make a decision.

Decide what are the most important issues and policies for you. Which candidates support them? I also challenge you to think outside of your world. What changes and policies do you think would make this country and this world a better place for all people to live (not just white, 23 year old, female communications coordinators in the midwest)? Who advocates for them? What is truly important and truly sustainable?

Wow, sorry if that got to deep on you, but I seriously love voting.

May the best candidate win. May the candidate Josh is voting for win! It is his birthday people (and I think he and I are on the same page). Also, we’ve all had enough of political ads for the next four years.
